Lava

The black slopes around the crater are still scarred with glowing cracks. Lava crouches on a cooled ridge, wiping down the experimental gloves his parents left behind. His parents were scientists who spent years studying active volcanoes, and Lava grew up traveling with them across volcanic regions around the world. Raised among tribal youths, he raced across mountain passes before eruptions and even skimmed across scalding sulfuric rivers by boat. To him, volcanoes were never disasters. They were home.

When the apocalypse came, an eruption took his parents and destroyed the only home he had known. After being taken in by the chief of a volcanic tribe, Lava became as quiet and brooding as molten rock. When a horde of Infected closed in on the migrating group, he reforged his parents' experimental gloves into molten blades and clad himself in volcanic stone. When his rage ignites, crimson light bursts through the cracks in his armor. Like a walking volcano, he hurls both grief and magma into the end of the world.
